These legislative workshops, led by Stacia Proefrock, CPM (stacia at, 734 834-5392), and Connie Perkins, CPM (connie at, 517-614-7756) are designed to give student midwives and practicing midwives all of the information that they will need in order to understand the new midwifery licensing law in Michigan and also so that they can formulate a personalized path toward becoming licensed in Michigan as a CPM.

We will be going through the law line by line and explaining our understanding of how it will impact midwifery practice.  We also will be talking about difference educational pathways to licensure, including the experienced midwife path to the CPM, the PEP process, MEAC schooling, and the Midwifery Bridge Certificate.  We will be explaining the licensing fees (as well as the help that the Michigan Midwives Association has pledged to aid midwives in covering them). We will explain what we know about the rules making process and the new midwifery board.  Light snacks provided.  Details below on dates and locations.
